This book about solution approaches for sequencing (scheduling) problems on one machine. The sequencing problem is one of the most studied problems in combinatorial optimization. It’s a decision-making approach that’s used in service businesses, connection and manufacturing.
It is concerned with allocating resources to tasks over time periods with the goal of minimizing one or more criteria (objectives). The first sequencing methods were modeled in the mid of twentieth century. Real-world difficulties in application domains are almost related to time.
It is well-known that in a large number of real problems, production sequencing has multiple criteria often conflicting. Multi-criteria sequencing problem can be described as mathematical functions of different structures. The book consists of six chapters.
