The history of Iraq during the monarchy (1921-1958) was filled with many interesting historical facts and events in political, economic and social aspects, whether through history of its leaders and political leaders or through its economic activities (agricultural, industrial and commercial ), and the level and nature of its formations and its ethnic and racial social formations. Perhaps the history of the Jews in Mosul for the period (1921-1952 AD) represents one of the social formations and formations of the contemporary history of Iraq, and their presence and stability in Iraq dates back to the time of the Assyrian Empire (745 -612 BC) and their capital ( Nineveh ), when they were captured and brought to northern Iraq. Some historical sources indicated that they continued to exist after the Arab- Islamic conquest of Mosul in (16 AH / 637 AD), and they lived on the western side of Medina, in a popular neighborhood of their own called (Mahalat al-Yahud) known today as (the neighborhood of Ahmadiyya), and all of its residents are the easterners Jews who left Palestine after the Assyrian captivity, and they spoke the language and dialect of the vernacular people of Mosul, whose land they lived since ancient times. The study of the history of (the Jews of Mosul) during the monarchy will undoubtedly help researchers and those interested in understanding the nature of the prevailing social formations in them, and their varied and overlapping relationships with each other, within a conservative and tolerant social fabric within the old city kasbah in Mosul. This book in our hands represents a quantum leap in the study of the contemporary social history of Mosul and its environs. It is originally an academic study presented by the author and the researcher, Ali Shit Mahmoud Al-Hayani, for a doctorate degree/ Philosophy in Modern and Contemporary History / College of Arts / University of Mosul, entitled (The Jews in Mosul 1921-1952 AD – General Study) in 2012 AD and was under my supervision, and the researcher obtained a degree of excellence, and was for his enthusiasm and for the topic, his diligent and serious effort in research and investigation, and recording details about the lives of Jews and their economic, social, cultural and political activities in Mosul, through his follow-up to the virgin sources and basic references, and the implementation of many procedures and field interviews with interested and relevant researchers and specialists, all of which had an impact on the maturation and production of this study In form and substance into existence.
